Matt has grown up in a life of politics and has worked with Markee & Associates, Inc since 1997. Matt is a graduate of Western Oregon State and prior to lobbying spent time doing family crisis counseling. Since joining the firm, Matt has become an integral part of the company’s success. Matt is our head lobbyist and president of the company who has extensive knowledge of the political and administrative process. He has great relationships with both Legislators and people within the Executive and Judicial branches. During campaign season, Matt analyzes races and consults with candidates on a regular basis. During Legislative session, you will find Matt at the capitol meeting with legislators, agency heads and testifying daily.
Thomas has spent nearly the entirety of his professional career involved in politics which began while he was still a student at Oregon State University. Since then, he has experience in nearly all aspects of politics and campaigns. Some of his past experience includes serving as staff in both the Oregon House and Senate, coordinating grassroots operations as a senior staff member for a statewide federal candidate, and has consulted on municipal and county races. Separate from his professional career, he has served as an interim county planning commissioner and has worked as a member of a local public health advisory board. Over the years, Thomas has developed many strong relationships in all corners of the state as well as in local governments across Oregon. Since starting with us in 2014, he has proven to be a valuable member of the team at Markee and Associates.
