Markee & Associates, Inc. is an independent government relations company in Salem, Oregon. For over 40 years, we have represented a diverse clientele on a range of issues before the Oregon Legislature and Oregon state agencies.

Matt Markee

President

Matt has grown up in a life of politics and has worked with Markee & Associates, Inc since 1997. Matt is a graduate of Western Oregon State and prior to lobbying spent time doing family crisis counseling. Since joining the firm, Matt has become an integral part of the company’s success. Matt is our head lobbyist and president of the company who has extensive knowledge of the political and administrative process. He has great relationships with both Legislators and people within the Executive and Judicial branches. During campaign season, Matt analysis’s races and consults with candidates on a regular basis. During Legislative session, you will find Matt at the capitol meeting with legislators, agency heads and testifying daily.

Deborah Markee

Vice President and CFO

Deborah starting working for Markee & Associates, Inc in 2014. She has quickly become a very important part of managing the office and relaying information to clients. She has a long history of managing offices in both the private and public sectors. Deborah takes care of all the day to day needs of the office and is often the go between with our lobbyists and clients.

Thomas Cuomo

Lobbyist

Thomas has spent nearly the entirety of his professional career involved in politics which began while he was still a student at Oregon State University. Since then, he has experience in nearly all aspects of politics and campaigns. Some of his past experience includes serving as staff in both the Oregon House and Senate, coordinating grassroots and operations as a senior staff member for a statewide federal candidate, and has consulted on municipal and county races. Separate from his professional career, he has served as an interim county planning commissioner and has worked as a member of a local public health advisory board. Over the years, Thomas has developed many strong relationships in all corners of the State as well as in Local governments across Oregon. Since starting with us in 2014, he has proven to be a valuable member of the team at Markee and Associates.

Jim Markee

Founder/Consultant

Jim founded Markee & Associates, Inc in 1974 after spending time running campaigns and being staff to the Senate Revenue Committee. Jim is well known in Oregon as an expert strategist both in campaigns and in lobbying. While Jim has now retired, he still consults on special projects with the company.
